The City of Miamisburg is seeking a qualified attorney to serve as an Assistant Prosecutor through an independent contractor arrangement. This role provides professional legal representation on behalf of the City of Miamisburg and Miami Township in criminal, traffic, and zoning matters before the Miamisburg Municipal Court. The Assistant Prosecutor will manage assigned cases from initial review and approval of charges through pre-trial proceedings, trial, and appeal, while ensuring the fair, ethical, and consistent enforcement of applicable state laws, City ordinances, and Township resolutions.
This position is structured as an independent contractor relationship and is not a City employment position. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing professional legal services consistent with the terms of the contractor agreement. Compensation is up to $65,000 annually. This arrangement does not include employee benefits, paid leave, retirement contributions, workers’ compensation coverage, or other benefits provided to City employees, unless expressly stated in the final agreement.
Work Location: Primarily remote, with required in-person attendance at Miamisburg Municipal Court as scheduled
Schedule: Part-time (estimated 15-20 hours per week); includes court coverage generally required two days per week for 2-6 hours each day dependent on docket, with additional availability as needed
