Job summary

Jackson County Missouri is seeking a dedicated Prosecutor to manage a criminal docket and handle complex assignments in a fast-paced office. The role requires a JD, Missouri Bar, and five years of progressively responsible experience.

You will perform legal research, supervise docket administration for 20-30 cases, and take on special prosecutor tasks as determined by the department head. Background checks and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member of the Missouri Bar Association.
• Five years of progressively responsible legal experience.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a criminal docket of 20-30 felony and misdemeanor cases.
• Handle special action assignments, legal research assignments and special Prosecutor assignments as determined by the department head or his/her designee.
