Summary

The Assistant Property Manager will be responsible for effectively computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to maintain complete financial records while assisting with leasing, marketing, and resident relations within the community. The role involves routine duties such as making payments to vendors, processing resident rental payments, and maintaining property accounting records. All business activities must comply with company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, and other relevant laws.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Income Collection
  • Maintain accurate resident records, update rents, deposits, and application fees daily. Issue notices for late payments, evictions, or returned checks.
Resident Relations
  • Maintain positive customer relations, inspect the property, report service needs, and participate in resident events.
Marketing
  • Understand leasing and retention strategies, handle lease renewals, greet prospects, and answer inquiries. Stay informed about local market trends and contribute ideas for marketing and resident satisfaction.
Administrative/Leasing
  • Update reports, organize documentation, process leases and move-ins/outs, coordinate with maintenance, and manage property management software. Schedule industry training.
General
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Skills
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws, assertiveness, excellent interpersonal skills, professional appearance, leasing experience, customer service skills, computer proficiency, and availability to work weekends.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Supervise leasing agents and front desk staff in the absence of the property manager.
Education & Experience
  • 1-2 years of luxury multifamily housing experience preferred; High School diploma required.
Working Conditions

Office environment with standard equipment. Long hours sitting/standing, some light lifting, and managing multiple projects in a busy environment.

Physical & Environmental Demands

Muscle strain from prolonged sitting/standing, light lifting up to 35 lbs, and managing multiple projects in a noisy, busy environment. Use of computers may cause eyestrain.
