Job description

WE'RE HIRING | Assistant Property Manager | Austin, TX

Northpoint Asset Management is looking for a hands-on Assistant Property Manager to help oversee four small multifamily communities across Austin and Leander.

This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk-all-day role. We're looking for someone who wants to be in the field, leasing apartments, walking properties, solving problems, taking care of residents, and making sure things get DONE.

You’ll have the independence to manage your day and your route without someone constantly looking over your shoulder. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through, communicates well, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a HUGE plus!

What You will Do:

Own the Properties

  • Regularly visit four communities throughout Austin and Leander.
  • Walk grounds, buildings, amenities, and vacant units.
  • Identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and curb-appeal issues before they escalat.
  • Document issues and follow them through to completion.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams, vendors, and management to make sure work gets done - not just reported.

Lease & Close

  • Conduct in-person property and unit tours.
  • Quickly follow up with leads and self-guided Rently tour prospects.
  • Own the leasing process from inquiry through application, approval, and lease execution.
  • Keep pricing, availability, and unit status accurate.
  • Help turn leads into residents.

Keep Units Ready

  • Inspect vacant units before tours and move-ins.
  • Make sure apartments are clean, safe, presentable, and truly move-in ready.
  • Document deficiencies with photos and notes.
  • Work with maintenance and vendors to get issues resolved quickly.

Take Care of Residents

  • Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact for resident questions and concerns.
  • Assist with collections and delinquency follow-up.
  • Serve resident notices according to company procedures.
  • Help create a positive resident experience across the portfolio.

Keep the Business Moving

  • Maintain accurate property and resident records in AppFolio.
  • Provide timely updates on leasing activity, vacancies, property conditions, and outstanding issues.
  • Communicate clearly with leadership about what's happening at each property.

What we are looking for:

You should have:

  • Previous multifamily leasing experience.
  • A track record of touring, following up with prospects, and closing leases.
  • Working knowledge of applications, leases, renewals, collections, move-ins, and move-outs.
  • A good eye for maintenance, cleanliness, presentation, and property-condition issues.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple properties without constant supervision.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • High school diploma or GED.

You'll really stand out if you have:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills - a huge plus for this portfolio.
  • 2+ years of multifamily property management or leasing experience.
  • Previous Assistant Property Manager or Assistant Community Manager experience.
  • AppFolio or similar property management software experience.
  • Experience with delinquency, collections, notices, and move-in/move-out inspections.
  • Fair Housing knowledge or certification.
  • Familiarity with TAA lease documents.
  • $24-$26/hour, depending on experience.
  • $250/month vehicle allowance.
  • Full-time position.
  • Opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing a multi-site portfolio and continue growing your career in property management.

This is a field-based position, and regular travel between our Austin and Leander communities is part of the job.

You’ll work in leasing offices, occupied and vacant apartments, and outdoor property areas. Expect to walk properties, climb stairs, spend time outside, and occasionally lift or carry up to 20-25 lbs.

Some schedule flexibility may occasionally be needed around leasing activity, resident needs, or move-ins.

If you're someone who takes ownership, follows through, moves with urgency, and doesn't need to be micromanaged, we want to talk to you.
