We are seeking an experienced, motivated property management professional with affordable housing experience to join our team at two garden-style apartment communities in Arlington, VA. As an Assistant Property Manager, you will support the achievement of operational and financial goals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Property Manager with daily property operations, including leasing and marketing efforts.
  • Support leasing of a stabilized property with 116 units, including Project-Based Section 8/LIHTC and market-rate units.
  • Help achieve leasing benchmarks and property goals.
  • Manage prospect and resident relations.
  • Prepare invoices, assist with rent collections, manage delinquencies, and conduct property inspections.
  • Assist with income certification processes at move-in and annually.
  • Contribute to developing operating budgets, business plans, and property reports.
  • Participate in planning and attending resident events.
  • Ensure compliance with affordable housing requirements for prospective and current residents.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to residents, prospects, and visitors.
Qualifications
  • Experience in residential leasing, sales, or customer relations; lease-up experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HUD/LIHTC/affordable housing policies is strongly preferred; college degree is a plus.
  • Experience with property management software, preferably Yardi.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for resolving staff and resident issues objectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic math skills.
  • Experience with social media and marketing is advantageous.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 annually, plus potential commissions.
