Join Our Team as an Assistant Community Director!

Columbia, SC | Full-Time | Affordable Housing

Are you passionate about building vibrant communities and making a real impact in residents’ lives? Silver Tree Residential (STR) is looking for a proactive, people-focused Assistant Community Director to join our team at one of our HUD/Tax Credit properties in Columbia.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Community Director to support all aspects of property operations, with a focus on resident relations, lease administration, compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the property and ensure resident satisfaction
  • Review, process, and manage applications, leases, move-ins, re-certifications, and compliance documentation
  • Maintain accurate records in the property management system, including collections and rent posting
  • Support hiring, training, and development of on-site team members
  • Help manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
  • Ensure HUD/Tax Credit compliance is met across all aspects of property operations

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in property management
  • Affordable housing experience and knowledge of HUD guidelines highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to serve residents and support your team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A team player with strong organizational and leadership abilities
