Assistant Project Superintendent, Heavy Civil / Highway in the Tampa Bay area seeks an experienced candidate to back up the Project Superintendent on a design-build highway project, coordinating crews and FDOT procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining field records, safety talks, and daily production tracking, with relocation flexibility within North Tampa Bay/central Florida.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years in heavy civil highway construction.
• Experience with FDOT contracts, specs and reporting.
• Based in Tampa Bay or Central Florida, or ready to relocate.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Run subcontractors, foremen and crews day to day.
• Back up the Project Superintendent on planning and production.
• Keep daily reports, logs and field documentation current.
• Handle quality control in the field.
• Sit in meetings with the owner and FDOT inspectors.
• Coordinate equipment, material and deliveries.
• Own jobsite safety and toolbox talks.
• Track quantities and daily production.
• Travel between work areas on the project as needed.
