Job summary

School Leaders is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support bond-program projects in California, working on site across multiple regions (San Diego area, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, OC, Sacramento, Bay Area). You will manage document control, logs, meetings and DSA file prep, and assist with pay applications and site walks.

The role is entry to our PM ladder, with open opportunities and full benefits. CMIT candidacy is welcome and encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years in construction, architecture or public facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or architecture or related field.
• CMIT candidacy welcome.

Responsibilities

• Maintain submittal, RFI, change-order and DSA document logs.
• Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for OAC meetings.
• Review contractor pay applications and schedules of values.
• Assemble DSA closeout files (DSA 152, 6-PI, 6-AE, 6-C).
• Conduct site walks and photo documentation.
• Support board report preparation.

We assist school districts, county offices of education, and community colleges with planning, funding, and delivering facilities. Services span bond program management, facility master planning, needs assessments, fiscal stabilization, strategic planning, superintendent searches, and leadership training.

About the Role

Support the Project Manager on active bond-program projects: document control, submittal and RFI logs, meeting minutes, DSA file preparation, pay-application review and site walks. This is the second position every district program requires and the entry point to our project management ladder.
