Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the planning and execution of complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role offers a clear path to Project Manager, with hands-on exposure to all phases of project delivery while working alongside experienced PMs and field leaders.

The APM will drive day-to-day project operations, coordinating teams and documentation, and supporting cost and schedule

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a project engineer or assistant project manager in construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drawings, specs, and revisions to project team and subcontractors.
• Assist in managing RFIs and submittals with design team and field.
• Maintain project logs for RFIs, submittals, changes, and meeting minutes.
• Support day-to-day operations by coordinating with field leadership, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Assist with cost control, including basic estimating and quotes.
• Participate in project meetings and document minutes.
• Help develop project procedures and documentation standards.
• Track progress and report updates to the Project Manager.
