Job description

The Ryan Company, a subsidiary of Quanta Services, is a General Contractor specializing in underground electrical distribution and substation construction throughout the continental US.

The Ryan Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to join our office in Norton, MA.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing all administrative and technical requirements including contract administration, change order processing, submittals, purchasing, project budgets, cost coding, resource allocation, and team responsibility matrixes
  • Attend all mandatory project planning meetings
  • Maintain a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer needs and expectations
  • Ensure projects are completed in a safe, profitable, and timely manner as well as meeting the expected level of quality
  • Inspect the site; review and/or coordinate design reviews for the various disciplines, review for code compliance and adherence to the contract requirements
  • Recommend approval or rejection of submittals as appropriate; monitor progress aboutschedule and delivery dates
  • Prepare project correspondence including RFI’s, letters, and written notices to owners, subcontractors, and suppliers as necessary, maintain complete records of contract documents, project-related documents, plans and specifications, and samples, and keep track of all changes in construction specifications and drawings, generate construction As-Built documentation, and maintain the latest approved construction documents
  • Track the progress of projects against goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets
Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office-based programs.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work a 25% travel schedule.
  • Work experience developing, tracking and updating CPM schedules, RFIs, submittals, payment analysis, review of ongoing work at the site, attendance at project meetings with customer, and project coordination with the costumer.
  • Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines (self-directed).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in project management (medium to high voltage distribution projects and substation construction)
  • BS in Electrical Engineering preferred, will consider Civil Engineering or Construction Management with consummate experience
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
Location
  • In Office – Full-time at the Corporate Headquarters in Norton, MA.
