Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager who will be responsible for helping oversee all phases of the construction project from start to finish while ensuring the project stays on time and within budget. This role works closely with a variety of individuals to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress. This role will spend time in an office setting while also on site ensuring the project is running smoothly.

This is a people-centered role in a fast paced, high risk work environment. Therefore, this position requires a person who gravitates towards problem solving through personal interaction, is highly professional, a gifted communicator, and problem solver.

Potential candidates should also have an ability to effectively prioritize and manage project load. This position requires a candidate who is highly effective at problem solving in both team and individual settings. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to manage work time effectively, proficiently navigate office-based software (Excel, Outlook, Word, PPT, etc.), and have experience working in the construction industry, specifically in a project manager role. The right person for this role will be passionate about managing a construction project while continuing to develop personally, organized, and has a high level of personal accountability.

Some expected responsibilities include:

  • Pre-construction meetings/defining scope of work
  • Pre-construction budgets/project alternates
  • Subcontract buy-out & post bid interviews with site superintendent
  • Review daily/weekly reports and logs by site superintendents
  • Reviewing/Tracking submittals and shop drawings
  • Creating/Reviewing/Tracking owner/subcontractor change orders and extras
  • Quality control of subcontracted trades
  • Project close out documents
  • Maintain OSHAsafety standards on Midwest job sites
  • Maintain Midwest standards per handbook

Project ManagerPositionQualifications:

  • 2+ Years of Experience Preferred
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms and conditions
  • Organizational skills, with projects, people, and idea
  • Experience in dynamic work environments/industries
  • Experience using Procore is preferred
