Job summary

Hermanson Company in the United States seeks an Assistant Project Manager (APM I) to support the Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager, gaining proficiency in construction processes on commercial sites.

The role involves day-to-day project coordination, documentation, and close collaboration with the field and office across multiple projects. The APM I will learn budgeting, procurement logs, RFIs, submittals, and learn to develop SCM knowledge while advancing safety and quality standards on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering is preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Efficient time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the field, client, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Meet and develop relationships with project foremen, superintendents, customers, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with one to multiple projects. May manage small projects.
• Work with manager to create a personal development plan.
• Develop a working knowledge of the local construction marketplace.
• Develops technical knowledge on mechanical & plumbing systems, building codes & standards, and Hermanson Construction standards.
• Gains exposure to the BIM and detailing process.
• Understands construction schedules and how they were developed.
• Writes subcontracts.
• Tracks and collects startup, installation verification, and pre-commissioning forms as required per project.
• Creates RFIs with relevant sketches.
