We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager with proven experience managing industrial mechanical projects, including millwright/rigging, process piping, utility piping, and structural steel. The work location will be based on project assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, managing, and storing all project documentation.
• Participate in project hand-off meetings to gather essential information before construction begins.
• Assist the PM in preparing the construction budget.
• Help develop and manage the construction schedule.
• Draft subcontracts and purchase orders as needed.
• Manage subcontractors and monitor their performance.
• Organize and distribute materials and equipment submittals.
• Create and distribute RFIs for project clarification.
• Collaborate with the PM and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies.
• Assist in pricing, negotiating, and formalizing scope changes.
• Coordinate with Superintendents on resources, materials, and equipment.
• Manage safety, quality, and productivity on-site.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management or a BS/BA in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Certifications like PMP or CCM are advantageous.
• OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
• Leadership experience with proven skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Budgeting, scheduling, negotiation, and cost control skills.
• Collaborative planning and excellent communication skills.
• Highly organized with knowledge of MS Office and construction management software.
• Understanding of construction safety, quality standards, and contract documents.
