Job summary

Hatfield Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the Project Manager in daily project management, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence. The APM will coordinate office-field activities, adapt to new processes, and help implement standard workflows as the company grows.

The role builds operational and financial skills toward evolving into a full Project Manager role, with responsibilities spanning planning, budgeting, documentation, and stakeholder liaison

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in construction project coordination or related roles.
• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
• OSHA 10-hour certification and a valid Driver’s License; Hoisting License (2A/1C preferred) preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Sage 100 Construction, Google Workspace, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning, tracking budgets, milestones, and resources.
• Document and manage scope changes; ensure approvals and documentation of changes.
• Analyze drawings/specs and prepare reports as required.
• Coordinate with field supervisors and vendors to support daily progress.
• Prepare invoices, scheduling updates, meeting minutes, RFIs, and logs.
• Facilitate meetings with staff, clients, architects, and trade partners.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with owners and clients.
