Job Description

Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated civil construction professionals to join our team as a Assistant Project Manager in the Green Cove Springs, FL area.

We are seeking talented, sharp-minded Civil Engineers and Construction Managers with solid construction experience to help staff upcoming projects.

*Experience in civil, infrastructure including: FDOT/Roadway/Bridge

Duties:

  • Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams.
  • Assess impacts to critical and near-critical activities; report to project team.
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances; assist in developing corrective actions.
  • Provide schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis periodically.
  • Ensure the credibility of schedule data.
  • Review schedules regularly with project team members for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Verify schedule integrity, evaluate logic and float paths.
  • Evaluate activity sequences for constructability.
  • Analyze change orders for schedule impacts.
  • Resource load schedules as required.
  • Perform job-site walks to verify physical progress.
  • Travel to job sites as required.
  • Manage project submittals, RFIs, draft subcontracts, purchase orders, and negotiate contract pricing.
  • Use Microsoft Project or Primavera for scheduling.
  • Assist with budgeting and cost projections.
  • Handle extensive word processing, correspondence with owners and engineers.
  • Attend progress meetings.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Communicate professionally with owners and engineers.
  • Work in office and field, understanding construction activities.
  • Manage and schedule deliveries and subcontractors.

Field responsibilities include:

  • Daily installation quantity recording.
  • Daily start and stop station recording for record drawings.
  • Equipment hour tracking.
  • Meetings with subcontractors and suppliers on-site.
  • Attend field meetings and document progress photos.

Qualifications:

  • Construction-related degree with 6+ years of construction scheduling experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and analytical ability.
  • Experience with Primavera P6.
  • Understanding of industrial construction processes.
  • Ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of contract procedures and principles.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Understanding of construction logic and sequencing of complex projects.
  • P.E. license preferred but not required.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
