A&G Services is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Estimator to join its mechanical construction team in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The position offers exposure to estimating, budgeting, procurement, and field coordination, with mentorship from experienced project managers and estimators.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical construction experience, strong organizational and Excel skills, and a desire to grow into a Project Manager or Estimator role on future projects.

Assistant Project Manager / Estimator

Full-Time | Mechanical Construction

A&G Services is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Estimator to join our mechanical construction team. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical construction experience who wants to continue developing their skills in both project management and estimating while working alongside experienced project managers, estimators, superintendents, and field leadership.

A&G Services is a well-established mechanical contractor serving the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Our work includes commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, process piping, hydronic piping, mechanical piping, and fabrication. We perform projects ranging from smaller mechanical renovations to large, complex industrial and process piping installations.

Position Responsibilities

Assist with estimating HVAC, plumbing, mechanical piping, and process piping projects
Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
Perform material and labor takeoffs
Assist with developing project budgets and estimates
Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
Assist with project buyout and procurement
Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Assist with project scheduling and manpower planning
Track project costs, committed costs, and overall job performance
Coordinate with field supervisors, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and customers
Attend project meetings and assist with documenting action items
Review drawings and field conditions for constructability issues
Assist with material and equipment procurement and delivery coordination
Support project closeout, punch-list completion, and turnover documentation
Learn A&G’s estimating, project management, fabrication, and field construction processes with the goal of progressing into greater project responsibility

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is organized, motivated, technically minded, and interested in building a long-term career in mechanical construction.

Preferred qualifications include:

Experience with a mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, piping, or industrial contractor
Understanding of mechanical construction drawings and specifications
Experience with estimating, project coordination, project engineering, or assistant project management
Ability to perform or learn mechanical and piping takeoffs
Strong computer and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related business software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree is beneficial but not required with applicable industry experience
Experience with MCAA contractors, union mechanical construction, piping fabrication, process piping, BIM/VDC, or mechanical estimating software is a plus.
