Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Electrical in Tempe, AZ. The role requires progressive construction experience, with a focus on electrical projects and coordination with owners and engineers.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and be willing to travel as needed to support industrial, municipal, water, or wastewater facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field.
• 4-7 years of construction experience.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings and coordinate with the project team.
• Work with the project scheduling system.
• Assist in drafting and design tasks.
• Serve as owner and A/E contact.
• Procure materials.
• Survey the construction job site.
• Oversee job site safety and track labor hours.
• Coordinate subcontractors and prepare progress reports.

Education

An Assistant Project Manager - Electrical position is available at Garney. To be considered for this position, you must have previous progressive construction experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting electrical construction projects, preferably in industrial, municipal, water, or wastewater facilities.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Project Management experience in Accubid is a plus!
• Process and review shop drawings.
• Work with the project scheduling system.
• Perform detailed drafting.
• Serve as owner and architect/engineer contact.
• Purchase materials.
• Survey construction job site.
• Update as-built documents.
• Oversee job site safety.
• Track, audit, and project labor hours.
• Coordinate subcontractors.
• Complete daily and periodic report updates.
