Assistant Project Manager - Design/Build opportunity

Our client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team. The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager in overseeing the operations and activities of assigned projects. The primary goal is to ensure the completion of safe, high-quality projects on schedule and within budget, while fostering strong client relationships.

The Assistant Project Manager collaborates with the Project Manager to manage the time, cost, and quality of construction projects. They act as a liaison among owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients regarding project feasibility, costs, scheduling, completion, and close-out for multiple projects. Effective communication with team members, clients, vendors, and external partners is essential.

The key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining Procore records, logs, drawings, sketches, and contracts.
  2. Implementing and tracking RFQ and bid packages to subcontractors and vendors.
  3. Negotiating contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and other project-related costs.
  4. Preparing and archiving meeting minutes.
  5. Conducting site visits.
  6. Preparing take-offs and estimates.
  7. Leading subcontractor and owner meetings.
  8. Preparing and delivering project close-outs and owner manuals.
  9. Coordinating BIM activities with architects and subcontractors.
  10. Following up and reporting progress to the project team, clients, and stakeholders.
  11. Mentoring team members.
  12. Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Growing knowledge of project management principles related to building, engineering, and architecture.

Familiarity with computers and internet applications.

Proficiency with Excel, MS Project, and Procore.
