Job summary

Cal Poly Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California, seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support Facilities Planning and Capital Projects. You will oversee assigned construction projects and interface with faculty, staff, CSU officials, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure project success.

Under the Executive Director, you will help manage scope, safety, quality, schedule, and costs across all project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects during development, planning, design, construction, close-out, and warranty of major capital outlay projects.
• Assist with the overall project performance including scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, and costs.
• Represent the university and work with project teams during all project phases.
• Coordinate and integrate project meetings and activities and inform/update campus client/users on the status of the projects.
