Path Construction is seeking a qualified Assistant Project Manager to join our organization in San Antonio, TX. We are a rapidly growing commercial general contractor with offices in Arlington Heights, IL; Dallas, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; Knoxville, TN; Charlotte, NC; and Tampa, FL, with projects throughout the United States. Typical duties of an APM include managing day-to-day activities of subcontractors and suppliers, contract administration, procurement, estimating, pay requests, change orders, requests for information, cost control, scheduling, tracking submittals, and maintaining a high level of quality.

The right candidate will have 2+ years of construction management experience on large and/or small projects across various asset classes, including but not limited to, Higher Education, Retail, Multi-family, Self-storage, Hospitality, Senior Living, Healthcare, Restaurant, Transportation, Water and Waste Treatment, Convention Centers, Laboratories, and Correctional facilities. Duties for an Assistant Project Manager include:

• General Contract and Subcontract administration
• Monitoring and documenting jobsite safety and accident prevention
• Construction Scheduling
• Material & Equipment procurement and expediting
• Processing RFIs (Receive, Review, Submit, Log)
• Shop drawing and submittal review and coordination
• Project cost review, reporting, and updating
• Reviewing subcontractor payment applications
• Participating in and documenting project meetings
• Supervising and coordinating subcontractors’ field installations
• Reviewing and negotiating change proposal pricing
• Preparing change proposals
• Managing change order documentation and costs
• Researching construction methods and equipment options
• Ensuring quality control
• Project closeout activities
• Implementing safety and EEO/Affirmative Action programs

Requirements

• A 4-year degree in Building Construction, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of construction management experience
• OSHA Site Safety certification
• Proficiency with modern technology and excellent communication skills
• Basic knowledge of construction principles and practices
• Strong work ethic, teamwork orientation, and growth mindset
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel if required
• Knowledge of project management software (Microsoft Office, SAGE 300 CRE)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
