Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Interiors Construction)

Location: New York City

MUST be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Client Details: Our client is an established General Contractor and Construction Manager with a track record of building commercial interiors projects throughout New York City. They are looking to bring on a strong Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Interiors Construction). They have a growing pipeline of projects and are continuing to bring on exceptional construction talent.

The Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Interiors Construction) will:

  • Evaluate job information to ensure completeness, design intent, and compliance with local codes and obtain all required clarifications from the design team.
  • Manage all aspects of a construction project from preliminary design, development, engineering, contracts, and material procurement to daily construction management, financing, bank requisitions, punch list, and final CO process for the owner.
  • Prepare budgets and assist in the preparation of expenditures and reporting to upper management.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors for bid/award processes.
  • Oversee the construction schedule and budget, ensuring project completion in a timely manner.
  • Implement cost-reducing options to minimize maintenance and labor costs.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and ownership.
  • Plan, document, execute, and manage projects through all phases, including close-out.
  • Ensure acquisition of all necessary permits and licenses before project start.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.

The ideal Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Interiors Construction) will have:

  • At least 2 years of construction experience in commercial interiors.
  • Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and safety practices.
  • The ability to commute to various job sites throughout NYC.
