Job summary

Capital Holding Group in Springfield, MO is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist with planning, organization, and management of day-to-day operations on commercial construction projects. You will work with the Project Manager, Preconstruction Teams, and Superintendent to maintain schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, and prepare estimates.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred), strong communication, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Experience in a project management role is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Manager and Preconstruction teams to understand project size, scope, timelines, and deadlines.
• Assist Superintendent in maintaining construction schedules and adjust plans based on field conditions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to define work scopes and ensure items are addressed.
• Serve as liaison between Project Manager, superintendent, subcontractors and vendors.
• Read bid instructions, prepare material takeoffs, estimate labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs.
• Assess risks through plan reviews and site visits; assist in bid preparation and submission for various jobs.
• Assist in development of project schedules and promote a safe work environment.
