Job summary

Altitude Energy, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to Project Manager III in a hybrid role with office and field travel. The position supports high-voltage transmission and distribution construction projects across the western United States, reporting to a Manager with opportunities to progress through PM levels.

Key responsibilities include forecasting, budgeting, submittals, RFIs, and scheduling using MS Project/Primavera and Procore.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level to 2 years of office and field management or technical services experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution construction, including mid-level management.
  • 2+ years of office and field management or technical services experience for PM I
  • 5+ years for PM II
  • 10+ years for PM III

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Attends, prepares for, and participates in meetings.
  • Meets with landowners and may pursue business development activities.
  • Forecasts, tracks production, budgets, and manages submittals and RFIs.
  • Prepares and leads project preplanning meetings and maintains schedule.
  • Oversees contracts to ensure work aligns with contract documents.
  • Documents and reports progress timely and accurately.
  • Maintains clear communication with owners, engineers, team, and subcontractors.
  • Manages material, tooling, and equipment costs and ensures quality control.

About the Role:

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (APM) to Project Manager III

Division/Department:Distribution/Transmission

Work Location: Mix of Office and Field Traveling as Required

Reports To: Manager will be assigned.

Supervises: Determined by projects assigned to you.

  • Driver’s license and MVR requirement: Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
  • Technical Skills: Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Procore experience preferred. Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

APM

  • Experience: Entry level to 2 years of office and field management or technical services experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution construction, including experience in mid-level management.

PM I

  • Experience: 2 + years of office and field management or technical services experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution construction, including experience in mid-level management.

PM II

  • Experience: 5 + years of office and field management or technical services experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution construction, including experience in mid-level management.

PM III

  • Experience: 10 + years of office and field management or technical services experience in high-voltage electric transmission and distribution construction, including experience in mid-level management.
Essential Skills, Duties and Responsibilities

General:

  • Performs all duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Attend, prepare for, lead when required and participate in meetings.
  • Meeting with landowners.
  • Role could involve chasing work, business development, marketing, and review of incoming projects.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, company operating procedures, regulations and codes.

Project Management:

  • Produces and has knowledge in these tasks: forecasting, production tracking, % completes, budget planning, budget tracking, submittals, RFIs, monthly billing, change order management, and punch lists.
  • Can produce daily, weekly and monthly projections for all construction activities.
  • Involved in estimating, permitting and procurement.
  • Sub-contractor management to include identify changed conditions, dispute management, risk management
  • Prepare and lead project preplanning meetings.
  • Risk management awareness: focused on avoiding delay costs, avoiding LDs, avoiding claims.
  • Planning, directing, and supervising daily activities of the resources of projects assigned to you.
  • Monitors manpower, manhours, material, equipment, rentals and other job cost impact items.
  • Monitor and manage project Adjust as necessary to meet deadlines. Inform leadership when falling behind schedule.

Contract Administration:

  • Oversee contracts: can read, understand and follow all contract Ensure all work is completed according to contract documents.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with owners, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Documentation done timely. Accurate reporting and tracking followed through to completion.

Communication:

  • Maintains open and good communication with owners, engineers, project team, subcontractors, leadership.

Material, Equipment, Tooling:

  • Manage and help your project teams manage material, tooling and equipment costs.

Quality:

  • Responsible for quality control on your projects.

  • Ensure project safety and safe working conditions on your sites.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Promotes and participates in Altitude’s ‘Monthly Safety Meetings’.
  • Adheres to all applicable Altitude, Local, State and Federal safety standards and safety requirements.
  • Wears all required protective and safety equipment while performing tasks that require it.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to safely maneuver around job sites.
  • Able to speak and hear information through oral communications.
  • Has visual acuity to see items clearly and sharply.
Other Requirements and Working Conditions
  • To ensure projects under your direction are running smoothly and profitably, you will be required to make site visits or be in the field at least two days a Also, visit sites as required based on how the job is performing and or during critical phases in the work scopes. It is important that you spend adequate time on each jobsite to ensure success.
  • You are expected to manage multiple projects directly and assist in other projects indirectly at any given time.
  • Working conditions could include inclement weather.
  • Typical work schedules; up to 12-hour days and 50-hours per week.
  • Could include working additional hours, nights, weekends, out of town, overtime, outages, storm calls as required.
