Assistant Project Manager (APM) – Ground-Up Construction

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our ground-up construction company. The APM will work alongside the Project Manager, supporting all phases of the project lifecycle from planning and bidding to execution and progress tracking. This is an in-office role, requiring prior construction experience and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination from pre-construction to completion.
  • Support the bidding process, including reviewing RFPs, preparing bid packages, and analyzing subcontractor proposals.
  • Help define the scope of work for contractors, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Track and manage project progress, budgets, and timelines, providing updates to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist in obtaining permits, approvals, and necessary documentation for project compliance.
  • Maintain and organize project documentation, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Identify and address potential risks and challenges proactively.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members to keep projects on track.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in construction (ground-up experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, or other construction management software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
