Founded in 1979, Hedrick Brothers Construction is a family-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, with offices in Winter Park, Stuart, and Miami. For more than 45 years we have built across Florida in hospitality, multi-family, industrial, healthcare, and the public sector, with project values ranging from $5M to $160M.

The Opportunity

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in the administrative and management work that keeps a project on time and on budget, while developing the skills to one day run projects independently.

You’ll own real pieces of the project — submittals, RFIs, change documentation, pay applications — across the full project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor and maintain project safety and quality standards, and maintain client satisfaction through HBC core values.
  • Read, understand, and follow owner contracts and assist in managing the budget, plans, and specifications in Procore.
  • Assist the PM with negotiating changes to contract documents and managing PCOs, CORs, change orders, CCAs, ACAs, direct purchases, bonds, and warranties.
  • Assist in creating and updating the project schedule.
  • In the absence of a Project Administrator, prepare and submit monthly pay applications to owners and subcontractor payment requests, flagging delays or issues.
  • Process and track RFIs in Procore and distribute answers to the appropriate parties.
  • Review and comprehend submittals and shop drawings.
  • Create, distribute, and track Notices to Comply, Safety Notices, Field Work Directives, and events affecting project cost, scope, schedule, or safety.
  • Complete owner closeout within 30 days of substantial completion and financial closeout within 30 days of final inspection.
  • Perform estimating functions during preconstruction and construction as directed by the Project Manager.
  • In the absence of a Project Administrator, write, distribute, and track contracts and purchase orders, verify insurance and license compliance with Accounting, and enter information in Procore.
  • Assist with creating the project punch list.
  • Cost-code invoices and submit per Accounting procedures.
  • Create and distribute meeting minutes in Procore; attend meetings as required.

  • Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification required; OSHA 30-Hour preferred; First Aid / CPR preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Procore.
WHAT WE OFFER

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, company holidays, and paid parental leave
