Our work brings together craftsmanship, thoughtful architecture, and modern building principles, creating spaces that enrich lives and strengthen communities. As we continue to scale, we're growing our project leadership team and developing the next generation of construction management talent.

The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of residential and commercial construction projects from pre-construction through close-out. This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to King Built’s standards of quality and performance. The APM will gain end-to-end construction management experience and is expected to grow into a Project Manager role over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in creating and updating project schedules
  • Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, material deliveries, and inspections
  • Track progress and maintain weekly reporting to project leadership
  • Attend internal and subcontractor coordination meetings and document action items
  • Organize, maintain, and distribute project documents: drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Manage contract documentation, change order logs, and pay application tracking
  • Assist in project close-out documentation, warranties, and punch list coordination
  • Ensure compliance documents (insurance, permits, safety, lien waivers) are accurate and current
  • Assist with budget tracking, cost coding, and invoice review
  • Support the preparation of draw requests and progress billing packages
  • Identify and communicate potential cost or schedule impacts early
  • Maintain accurate cost documentation to support forecasting and reporting
  • Support clear communication between the office, field teams, subcontractors, and clients
  • Help ensure client expectations and design intent are carried through operations
  • Represent King Built professionally at all times, on-site and in correspondence
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress, quality, and safety compliance
  • Assist Superintendents in coordinating inspections and resolving field questions
  • Reinforce company safety standards and document safety observations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in construction management, coordination, estimating, or field supervision
  • Working understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
  • Proficiency in Buildertrend, Procore, or similar software, plus Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and advance
Compensation & Benefits
  • Full-time, W-2 Employee.
  • Pay: $55,000 to $75,000+ annually, depending on experience
  • Performance-based incentives tied to project delivery and growth milestones
  • Mileage reimbursement or vehicle allowance
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development, training, and a clear growth pathway to Project Manager
  • Supportive, team-oriented environment focused on craftsmanship, accountability, and innovation
Why King Built
  • You’ll work on meaningful, design-forward projects that shape communities
  • You will learn directly from senior project and field leadership
  • We invest in your long-term career development, not just task execution
  • You’ll be part of an expanding organization with real advancement opportunities
