Job summary

Professional Expert Position

Under general supervision, the Professional Expert provides assistance and support for projects based on assignments and directions from the supervisor. Professional Experts possess specialized knowledge or expertise not generally required of or found in the standard district classifications. They are utilized on a temporary basis, for specific projects, and are governed by a Professional Expert Agreement. Professional Expert employment does not displace classified personnel. Retired CalPERS annuitants may not exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year.

Conditions of Employment

The position is a professional expert, temporary/short-term role. Hours and effective dates will be arranged with the supervisor. Regular attendance is an essential function. The incumbent is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with district policies, including Title IX. The district reserves the right to extend, modify, or eliminate the position based on available funds.
