Job summary

Albion General Contractors in Sandy Springs, GA, seeks an Assistant Project Manager for a full-time, on-site role. You will assist Field Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers in understanding project scope, negotiating with Owners and subs, and supporting pre-construction and budgeting activities.

The ideal candidate has a four-year degree in a construction-related field and 3-4 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and tools like Sage, Autodesk,

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree from an accredited university in construction, engineering, or business.
• 3-4 years of related industrial construction experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Sage, Autodesk, Bluebeam experience preferred.
• Strong client relationships, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret data and understand how project elements fit together.

Responsibilities

• Assist in driving and implementing the Change Management Process.
• Assist in managing Cost Control (project cash flow, budget, pay applications).
• Assist in Project Estimating/Pre-Construction processes (scope reviews, budgets).
• Assist in reviewing proposals to determine time frame, staffing, and resources.
• Assist in monitoring and updating project schedules and critical path.

Join a great employee-owned Company with an even greater culture! Albion General Contractors is searching for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This full time position will be based in our Sandy Springs office, no remote or hybrid schedule available.

The individual in this role will, assist Field Managers, Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers in understanding the project scope in order to make the best Buy-Out decisions. Uses basic negotiation skills with Owners and subcontractors; utilizes cost forecasting and understands Scopes of Work. Has demonstrated ability to complete a standard project by themselves. Can manage moderate client(s) expectations and client basic building scope. Can successfully make deals with subs, buy-out, negotiate. Has demonstrated experience running an effective Client meeting and has been assigned and run a small job(s).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include

• Assist in driving and implementing the Change Management Process (e.g. Log, Review, Notification, Document Management, Issue Subcontractor Changes, Status Tracking)
• Assist in managing Cost Control (e.g. Monthly Project Management reports, Project Cash flow, Budget, Owner/Subcontractor Pay Application)
• Assist in the Project Estimating/Pre-Construction Process (e.g. Scope Review, Bid Day participation, Generate schematic/design development budgets)
• Assist in reviewing project proposal or plan to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
• Assist in monitoring and updating project schedule routinely. Track critical path and address potential problems immediately documenting any real and potential delays. Identify impact of changes to schedule and notify appropriate parties
• Provides input and assist in supervising all pre-construction services such as purchase orders, subcontract, schedules, job cost set-up, and preplanning
• Supervise and manage subcontractor, and/or suppliers in the area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance, and providing feedback
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved timely, ensures follow up where needed
• Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values and safety expectations.

Preferred Qualification

• Four-year degree from an accredited university within the construction, engineering, or business concentrations
• 3-4 years related industrial construction experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Tech savvy, using Sage and Autodesk, Bluebeam, etc preferred. Require solid Microsoft Office Suites skills
• Has a passion for the general construction industry, establishing strong client relationships, and driving quality and excellence
• Manages detail and quality with pace of work and customer expectations
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Interprets data and information and communicate insights and actions needed
• Demonstrates an understanding of all elements of a project fit together in context of the bigger picture
• Continuously develops skills and abilities and seeks opportunities to expand knowledge and experiences across market segments and complex projects
