Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial plumbing, electrical, and specialty projects in Richmond, VA. You will coordinate communications among field teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule and aligned with contract requirements.

The role involves assisting with schedules, logs, procurement, submittals, and closeout documentation, while developing strong working relationships with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with the execution of assigned projects.
  • Coordinate project communications between field teams, customers, vendors, subcontractors, fabrication, detailing, and startup personnel.
  • Help develop and communicate project schedules and milestones.
  • Participate in project meetings and document action items and follow-up requirements.
  • Maintain RFIs, submittal logs, purchase orders, and expediting logs.
  • Prepare and submit RFIs for PM review and track responses.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for compliance.
  • Assist with operations and maintenance manuals and project closeout packages.
  • Assist with equipment, material, and subcontract procurement activities.
  • Coordinate equipment releases and material deliveries.
  • Monitor lead times and assist with expediting critical deliveries.
  • Support change order development and documentation.
  • Review invoices and billing documentation for accuracy.

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful execution of commercial plumbing, electrical, and special projects by providing project coordination, technical administration, procurement, scheduling support, and customer communication.
