Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to join our award-winning culture and help us grow together. As part of a dynamic team, you’ll assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, directing, and managing assigned projects in building automation, fire alarm, and electronic security systems.

You’ll help keep costs within budget, ensure timely delivery, and maximize customer satisfaction while developing financial skills and leadership within the group.

Qualifications

• Basic project management experience in a technical environment (building automation, fire alarm, or electronic security).
• Developing project financial skills.
• Leadership orientation; mentor others within the organization.
• Strong MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, organizing and directing projects.
• Ensure projects are executed within budget and time schedules.
• Maintain positive cash flow on assigned projects.
• Act as key interface with the customer and maximize satisfaction.
• Identify project risks and help develop strategies to minimize impact and deviations.
• Use financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job costs and provide reports.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, organizing and directing, and application engineering for assigned projects.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Ensures positive cash flow on all assigned projects.
• Acts as key interface with the customer and maximizes customer satisfaction.
• Identifies potential project risks and assists to develop/implement strategies to minimize impact and develop and implement strategies for controlling deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
• Utilizes financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Basic project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems).
• Developing project financial skills.
• Leadership Orientation-Actively seeks ways in which to act as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others within the organization.
• Strong Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

Requirements

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• 3-5 years engineering, field service or project management
• Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare
• Previous supervisory
