Job summary

Central Civil Construction in South Florida seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil projects and join a team of experienced industry leaders. You will assist with planning, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination on airports, seaports, roadways, and utilities.

You will gain hands-on exposure to project controls, field execution, and reporting, working on both site and head office assignments while growing toward a Project Manager role.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • or related field
  • 5+ years of construction industry experience
  • Strong proficiency with Procore and project controls
  • OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days - provided by Central Civil)

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents in the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, buyout, and project coordination
  • Manage project controls and documentation using Procore: RFIs, Change Orders, Contracts & correspondence, Drawing revisions and project records
  • Track crew production, subcontractor performance, and project data
  • Coordinate subcontractor compliance and Procore utilization, including pay applications
  • Assist with material deliveries, logistics coordination, and hauling record management
  • Maintain and manage project dashboards and reporting tools
  • Generate accurate project status reports and updates for leadership teams
  • Build strong relationships with owners, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Support preconstruction activities including estimating, planning, and scheduling
  • Help improve project workflows and contribute ideas that drive efficiency and performance

Assistant Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • or related field
  • 5+ years of construction industry experience
  • Strong proficiency with Procore and project controls
