About The Role

Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Site Development

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, United States (On-site)

Job Function: Project Management / Construction Operations

Seeking an Assistant Project Manager with experience in heavy civil and site development construction to support the successful execution of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure site preparation projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This role will assist Project Managers with project coordination, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and field operations from pre-construction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing site development and site preparation projects including earthwork, grading, excavation, utilities, paving, and storm drainage.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and cost tracking activities.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and owners to maintain project schedules and workflow.
  • Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, pay applications, and contracts.
  • Track quantities, production, and project costs to support financial reporting and budget management.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and subcontract agreements to support project execution.
  • Assist with material procurement, subcontractor buyout, and equipment coordination.
  • Participate in project meetings, owner updates, and coordination with municipal agencies and inspectors.
  • Support underground utility installation activities including water, sewer, storm drain, and detention systems.
  • Monitor project quality, safety compliance, and adherence to contract documents and project schedules.
  • Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists, as-built documentation, and final turnover packages.
Your Profile
  • 2–5 years of experience in heavy civil, site development, or infrastructure construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and construction documentation.
  • Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced construction environments and support multiple active projects.
