Job summary

Albertina Kerr Centers in Portland, OR is seeking an Assistant Program Manager for a youth residential group home. You will support the Program Manager, supervise staff, and help create a positive, safe environment while ensuring program goals and budgets are met.

The role requires at least one year of experience with developmental disabilities or related fields, strong communication and leadership, and driving eligibility to meet agency requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or youth.
• Strong math, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and maintain a positive work environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
• Ability to lift over 25 lbs and push/pull in excess of 50 lbs.

As an Assistant Program Manager, you'll work in a residential group home in East Portland, OR, providing support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Help them achieve their desired lifestyles! You'll assist your Program Manager in providing peer support to staff, creating a positive work environment, and with financial oversight.

This position works Monday-Friday Swing shift Mon-Tues 1:30 pm-9:30 pm, Wednesday 11:30 am-9:30 pm, Thurs-Fri 1:30 pm-9:30 pm, at a youth residential group home, with an additional weekend on-call rotation 1-2 times per month. Additional compensation is provided for on-call.

Essential Duties

• Train, schedule and provide peer supportto diverse staff.
• Maintain a work environment that emphasizes teamwork, cooperation, and safety.
• Provide motivation and feedback to staff.
• Address conflict, facilitate resolution, and model professional and positive relationships.
• Monitor staff training, Incident Reports, ISP goals, BSPs or other support documents.
• Fill in when necessary to ensure compliance with the staffing ratio or to mentor staff.
• Work with the Program Manager to maintain finances for each client and manage program budget.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community and governmental agencies, families, guardians, and agency support staff.
• Participate in Licensing Reviews and Self-Assessments and work with Program Manager on the Plans of Improvement.
• Interact with those we serve in a manner that demonstrates respect, enhances dignity, builds self-esteem, and empowers personal choice.
• Position covered under SEIU Local 503 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Qualifications

• Familiar with medication usage and side effects.
• Good math, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to make decisions in response to incidents as they arise.
• Ability to relate effectively with supported youth.
• Ability to meet agency driving requirements.
• Driving eligibility includes a current and valid driver’s license, at least two years ofdriving experience verifiable through the DMV, and no more than two moving violation infractions in the past two years.
• Ability to lift over 25 lbs.
• Ability to push or pull in excess of 50 lbs.
