Job summary

Transitions Mental Health Association seeks an Assistant Program Manager for Behavioral Health Navigation in San Luis Obispo. The role focuses on system navigation, referrals, and trauma-informed guidance for adults with mental health challenges.

It includes training Navigator staff and educating clients and providers about TMHA services. The position is full-time and non-exempt, with a salary range and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related Human Services field; 6 months+ navigation experience preferred.
• English and Spanish bilingual abilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required; able to work with diverse populations.
• Must have dependable transportation and ability to travel within county/state as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist BHN Manager to ensure program success and staff support.
• Promote BHN program through presentations and community events.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources to support team and clients.
• Onboard and train BHN navigators; relay training and announcements to the team.
• Uphold trauma-informed practices and person-centered communication in all services.
• Record client data electronically following project protocols.
• Attend weekly meetings with Program Manager to discuss progress and improvements.
