Assistant Program Leader - Buenger Club (Newport, KY)

Primary Function:

Assist the Program Leader, Education Coordinator, and/or P.E. Coordinator in implementing programs for Club members in line with BGCGC’s mission, focusing on the Graduate, Fit for Life, Ready to Serve program model. Programs are facilitated through the Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) tool, developed by the Weikert Center for Youth Program Quality.

  • Stimulate interest through skill instruction, events, tournaments, contests, and member recognition.
  • Maintain records such as attendance and meal counts.
  • Provide individual guidance and foster relationships conducive to members' growth.
  • Keep program areas clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Participate in professional development trainings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Leader or in their absence.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator on Continuous Quality Improvement.
Collaboration/Relationships:
  • Maintain contact with Program Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Club Director, staff, volunteers, and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with other Program Leaders and staff to enhance programs.
  • Participate in professional development.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Maintain a 15:1 member to staff ratio. Activities require active engagement, including walking and standing. Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; average lift less than 25 lbs. Use of computers and office equipment required.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Positive interaction with youth, especially regarding behavior issues.

Hourly Rate: $14.50/hour. Benefits include Paid PTO and Holidays.
