Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or psychology.
  • Licensed or eligible for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC or licensed psychologist supervision training.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy in mental health settings.
  • Experience with DSM-5, treating severe mental illness and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Director in supervision of staff and clinical operations.
  • Serve as head of service in the Program Director’s absence and act as liaison among staff and partner agencies.
  • Develop, implement and monitor clinical training and policies; ensure DMH and Gateways documentation compliance.
  • Provide on-call crisis consultation and facilitate client transfers to higher levels of care when needed.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supports staff with corrective action plans; participate in treatment team meetings.
  • Attend inter/intra-agency meetings and contribute to program development and evaluation.

Title of Position:Assistant Program DirectorLocation:Percy VillageExempt/Non-Exempt:ExemptUnion/ Non-Union:Non-UnionSupervisor:Program DirectorSUMMARY OF POSITIONAssists the Program Director in supervision of staff as assigned and has oversight of clinical operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIESServes as head of service in absence of the Program DirectorLiaison between administrative, clinical/program staff and other agenciesSupervises assigned staff, including provision of clinical supervision hours for staff/interns who are BBS registeredAssists Program Director in clinical program developmentRecruits and interviews applicants for clinical positionsPlans and implements clinical training for staffAssists in clinical training and supervising new therapists and case aidesMaintains detailed knowledge of, and monitors compliance with, DMH and Gateways’ documentation requirements and service delivery benchmarksParticipates in educational seminars for the departmentAssists with the development, maintenance and evaluation of policies and proceduresWrites reports and presentations as requiredAttends inter/intra-agency meetings for networking and information sharingKeeps program personnel informed of professional and community trends, issues, concerns and requestsParticipates in staff and treatment team meetings and contributes pertinent informationAssist other programs as necessaryWorks independentlyProvides on call coverage for emergency consultation and intervention outside of regular work hoursAssists in crisis situations as needed and helps to facilitate client transfers to higher levels of care, when needed/indicatedDevelops, implements and monitors integrity of group scheduleMay complete client assessments for placement.
