Job summary

COMHAR, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Assistant Program Director to support the oversight of our Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) program.

You will guide staff, supervise operations, and ensure recovery-oriented, person-centered care while advancing compliance with regulations. The role emphasizes leadership, staff development, and coordination across services to maintain high-quality residential behavioral health care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a clinical field (psychology, social work, education, or related) with at least two years in mental health.
• Valid driver’s license; able to travel across COMHAR service areas.
• Medical clearance including TB test and Hep B.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility compliance with applicable laws and standards.
• Clinical and administrative oversight of the LTSR, residents, and staff.
• Develop and implement policies ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Oversee admissions screening, referrals, transfers, and discharges.
• Supervise Mental Health Technicians and Certified Peer Specialists.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for staff.
• Assist Program Director with payroll oversight within LTSR.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic environment; conduct inspections and drills.
• Ensure proper recordkeeping and reporting per requirements.
• Develop liaison relationships with OMH/MR and external providers.
• Attend internal and external meetings as required.
• Create staff training aligned with regulations and program policies.
