Job summary

The University of California, Davis invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Vegetable Crop Productions in the Department of Plant Sciences. Qualifications

• Basic qualification: Ph.D. or equivalent in Plant Sciences, Horticulture, Agronomy, Agroecology or relevant discipline at time of appointment.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding for research.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses and to present to scientific audiences.
• Commitment to advising undergraduates and mentoring MS/PhD students.

Responsibilities

• Establish a competitively funded research program addressing vegetable crop production and related topics.
• Teach courses in plant sciences (approx. 2.5 per year) and participate in curricular development.
• Advise graduate students and participate in graduate and undergraduate mentoring.
• Engage in outreach and collaboration with UC Davis and external stakeholders.
