Job Summary

The Department of Pathology seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The primary role will be to serve as an expert, academic hematopathologist, attending, and Medical Director for the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) Hematology Laboratory. Responsibilities include:

  • Specializing in hematopathology with additional duties in surgical or clinical pathology as needed.
  • Utilizing knowledge of WHO classification, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular genetics.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including hematopathologists, molecular pathologists, clinicians, and surgeons.
  • Participating in night and weekend on-call rotations.
  • Engaging in scholarly activities and teaching, with dedicated time allocated.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and interpret blood, bone marrow, lymph node, body fluid, and tissue samples from various sources, including clinical labs and affiliated hospitals.
  • Review outside cases, provide clinical consultations, and participate in multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Provide medical, scientific, and administrative leadership for the UCH hematology laboratory.
  • Contribute to scholarship as per CU School of Medicine standards.
  • Teach pathology residents, fellows, medical students, and conduct continuing education for laboratory staff.
