Location:

Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000

Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description:

As part of its newly established Institute for Quantum and Information Sciences, Syracuse University is soliciting applications for multiple faculty positions in the area of quantum science, broadly defined. Multiple positions are available in both theoretical and experimental research fields. Appointments will be made in either the department of Physics or the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as appropriate. The majority of the appointments are expected to be at the assistant professor level, but appointments at the associate or full professor level may be made for exceptional applicants. Areas of interest for theoretical applicants include all fields of research related to quantum and information science, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, research in holography, gravity and field theory, condensed matter physics, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum algorithms and simulations.

Areas of interest for experimental applicants include all fields of research related to quantum and information science, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, research in superconducting device physics, integrated photonics, quantum sensing and networking, and precision science.
