The Department of Marketing in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Marketing beginning in August of 2027.
The Department of Marketing at UW-Whitewater seeks a dedicated educator, scholar and colleague to join our faculty. This position carries a 24-credit annual teaching load* with an emphasis on high-impact instructional practices, student success, research, and professional service. The successful candidate will be able to teach some combination of marketing research/analytics, digital marketing, marketing communications/strategy, services/hospitality marketing, and/or sports marketing, among other possible courses, as part of the undergraduate and graduate Marketing programs. The approved standards for promotion and tenure at the time of initial contract are the standards that will be used for promotion and tenure. If there are revisions to department or college standards, a faculty member can request (in writing to the department chair) to have the revised standards applied.
UWW Workplace Expectations
The Department of Marketing is one of the seven departments in the College of Business and Economics. There are 15 full-time faculty and staff members supporting approximately 800 undergraduate majors, minors and certificates with emphases in professional sales, digital marketing and artificial intelligence, and sports and experiential marketing. The Department of Marketing also serves approximately 100 graduate-level students with an MBA marketing emphasis or as part of our recently launched MS in Marketing Program. Marketing faculty also teach in the Doctor of Business Administration program and serve as dissertation advisors. The Department also hosts the internationally recognized UW-Whitewater Institute for Sales Excellence and is a full member of the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA) competing in regional, national, and international sales competitions. The collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) has held or shared the AMA International Chapter of the Year for 15 consecutive years and the Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) chapter has a strong sales competition and national presence. The Department of Marketing values faculty who have experience or a willingness to serve as advisors/mentors to marketing-related student organizations, coach students for external competitions, and are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research or other scholarly and creative activities. The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the state of Wisconsin. The College enrolls approximately 4,000 business undergraduate students and offers 15 majors and 26 emphases. Nearly 1,000 graduate students are enrolled in a breadth of online and on-campus programs, including the Masters of Business Administration (with 12 unique emphases, including Marketing), Master of Science in Cybersecurity, Master of Science in Data Analytics, Master of Science in Environmental Health and Safety, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Education in School Business Management, Master of Science in Marketing, and the Doctorate of Business Administration.
Well-qualified candidates can expect a minimum starting annual salary of $130,000.
