Washington State University’s Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in bioengineering at the Pullman campus.
The successful candidate will develop a funded research program, teach core and elective courses, mentor students, and collaborate across departments and national labs, with a start date of August 16, 2027.
The Opportunity: The Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering (VSCEB) at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for a full-time, permanent, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. We anticipate the new hire will assist VSCEB at WSU to further grow our vibrant research and educational programs. The position will be located at the WSU Pullman campus, and the individual hired will be expected to join VSCEB on August 16, 2027. The successful candidate is expected to establish a dynamic, externally funded, nationally recognized research program, teach core and elective undergraduate and graduate courses in bioengineering, mentor a diverse group of students, perform professional service, and publish scholarly work. VSCEB welcomes strong candidates in all areas of bioengineering, particularly candidates who can complement existing departmental strengths in molecular and cellular engineering, synthetic biology, biomanufacturing, tissue engineering, biomechanics, and engineering education and the growing expertise in Artificial Intelligence applications. Successful candidates will be able to build collaborations with the Elson Floyd College of Medicine at WSU Spokane and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, as well as other departments at WSU.
Nine-Month Academic-Year Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
