Conditions of Employment

The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior seeks candidates for Assistant Professor (M.D., D.O., M.B.B.S.). Support for J1, H1B, O1A, or HHS visas is available. Responsibilities include clinical, educational, and some research duties.

  • Serve on institutional committees.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance.
  • Develop and monitor forensic services.
  • Contribute to organizational goals.
  • Promote the Recovery Model in treatment.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary educational efforts.
  • Mentor and supervise students and fellows.
  • Coordinate research and education projects.
  • Spend approximately 50% of time on teaching and instruction.
  • Prior to fellowship supervision, focus more on patient care; after, balance shifts to patient care and fellowship administration.
  • Participate in clinical service delivery, ensuring standards are met.
  • Share in call duties, including weekends, holidays, and weeknights.
Minimum Requirements

Educational: M.D., MBBS, or D.O. with forensic training. Georgia license eligibility, psychiatry board certification or eligibility.
