Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a faculty member in Physics to teach general and upper-level courses across diverse formats, including on-campus, evenings, off-campus, and online.

The position requires a Doctoral Degree and a record of teaching at the college level, with opportunities to develop online courses. The university supports research and service and maintains a strong commitment to diversity and student success.

Qualifications

• PhD required in Physics or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching at the college level.
• Experience or interest in online course development is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Teach eight courses or activity equivalents in general Physics and other upper-level courses per year.
• Participate in curriculum and/or program development as assigned.
• Be accessible to students with regular office hours for advising and consultation.
• Conduct scholarship/research activities.
• Serve on college and university committees.
• Contribute to campus life and university functions (athletics, orientations, receptions, commencements).
• Attend meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Essential Job Functions

• Teaches eight (8) courses or activity equivalents in general Physics, and other upper-level physics courses per year in various formats as necessary (on-campus days, on-campus evenings, off-campus, online, etc.).
• Participates in curriculum and/or program development, as assigned.
• Be accessible to students, according to College guidelines; maintains regular office hours for student advising and consultation.
• Conducts scholarship/research activities.
• Serves and contributes to appropriate college and university committees.
• Provides community service and participates in university, college and departmental functions that contribute to campus life, such as athletic events, orientations, receptions, commencements, etc.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
