Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a collaborative and innovative tenure-track Assistant Professor in Pavement Engineering and Science (PES). The ideal candidate will strengthen the core PES program, advancing asphalt materials and pavement technologies, and contribute to its national impact through research, teaching, and engagement with transportation agencies and industry.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent).
  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Pavement Engineering and Science.
  • Record of scholarly achievement appropriate with career stage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain an externally funded research program in Pavement Engineering and Science, with emphasis on asphalt materials and pavements.
  • Publish research findings in leading peer-reviewed journals and disseminate scholarly work to academic, public agency, and industry audiences.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas aligned with the candidate's expertise and the instructional needs of the School.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students and supervise student research.
  • Develop collaborative research partnerships within the University and with transportation agencies, industry partners, and other research organizations.
  • Contribute to the academic and professional community through service to the School, College, University, and the profession.
  • Participate in activities that support the continued development, visibility, and national impact of the University's Pavement Engineering and Science program.

Education

B.S./M.S. in Civil Eng (ABET or equivalent)
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering
