Job summary

Grand View University in Des Moines, IA invites applications for a tenure-track Mathematics Education faculty position. The successful candidate will teach all Math Education courses for Elementary and Secondary teaching majors and may teach additional math courses as needed.

Responsibilities include supervising practicum and student teachers, advising students, and contributing to university and public service activities.

Qualifications

• Rank determined by experience and credentials; tenure track for Ph.D. candidates.

Tenure Track

The candidate will be responsible to teach all of our Math Education courses, for both Elementary and Secondary teaching students. To round out the teaching load expectations, the candidate will also need to be able to teach other math courses. These additional courses will be ones best suited for the individual and can range from non-major service courses to upper-division courses for Applied Mathematics majors. The ideal candidate will be able supervise practicum and/or student teachers in Math.

The candidate will be expected to support the mission of the University. Other duties include active involvement in activities to stay current in their field, maintaining an appropriate scholarly agenda, advising students, and University, professional and public service. There is also opportunity to teach service courses and contribute to the general education core beyond Math courses.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in Mathematics Education, Mathematics, or similar field with preference of Ph.D. Rank determined by experience and credentials. Tenure track position for Ph.D. candidates and Professor of Practice position for non-Ph.D. candidates.
