The Management Department at the University of Memphis East is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching. The position focuses on teaching undergraduate and MBA courses in Strategic Management, requires a PhD, and offers a competitive salary. Responsibilities include course delivery and collaboration on research, contributing to departmental activities.
Position: The Management Department invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching position to teach four courses per semester, with a focus on undergraduate courses in Strategic Management and MBA courses in Global Strategic Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction both in-person and online, designing engaging course materials, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Responsibilities: In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Visiting Professor of Teaching will have opportunities to collaborate with existing management faculty and doctoral students on research projects in mutually relevant areas. The Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching will have the opportunity to contribute to the department and the PhD program through participation in departmental meetings, workshops, and seminars.
Teaching expectations for this position will be three to four 3-credit courses per semester. Additional courses may be assigned when no evidence of research output is provided. For this position, the visiting instructor will be responsible for teaching on-ground and/or on-line sections in topic areas such as undergraduate critical thinking and business analytics, project management, enterprise architecture.
Compensation: Position offers competitive salary and attractive benefits package, depending on qualifications. This is a limited funded position with continuation contingent upon funding availability.
College and Department: The Fogelman College of Business and Economics has become a leading business school in the Southeast. The academic programs of the College are fully accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International), and the Fogelman College is the only major AACSB -accredited school in the Memphis metropolitan area.
The Department is an academically diverse and professionally active. It offers the undergraduate and graduate degrees in Management. Qualifications: The position requires a PhD in Management or a related field, with a strong emphasis on strategic management concepts and global business strategies.
