Department of Finance in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice, dependent on qualifications and experience, to teach in the financial planning and finance curriculum. The academic‑year position is available beginning Fall 2026 at the Blacksburg campus.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or higher in finance, financial planning, business or a related field. Significant professional and/or teaching experience. CFP® professional required. Candidates must have the expertise or experience to teach courses in both the financial planning and finance curriculum.
CFA, CPA, ChFC, CLU, or other appropriate designations are valued.
Exempt: Not eligible for overtime.

The selected candidate will teach four courses each semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and perform service assignments, including advancing the program through partnerships with the profession, donors, and alumni. Occasional travel to attend professional conferences and meetings is required. The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
