The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in experimental particle physics, starting August 2025.
Purdue is involved in major experiments such as CMS, Mu2e, STAR, sPHENIX, ePIC, and LSST. The department has resources for silicon detector design and development and seeks candidates to initiate new research in Dark Matter or flavor physics, complementing existing areas. Faculty are expected to establish a funded research program, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, advise students, and serve the department and university.
PhD in physics or a closely related field by the start of employment.
The department includes 60 faculty, 200 graduate students, and 280 undergraduates, with research in various physics disciplines and multidisciplinary areas supported by Purdue’s resources.
