The Assistant Professor or Clinical Assistant Professor with the additional title of Associate Director for the School of Nursing (SON) is a nurse educator who is responsible to work collaboratively with other SON administrators, staff, faculty and students to manage the day-to-day aspects of the Undergraduate and Graduate programs and to support the SON. The Associate Director is responsible for the overall integrity and accountability of the nursing curriculum for the undergraduate and graduate programs, including all tracks and options. The position is a 10-month/year position and carries a 25% to 50% reduction in teaching load depending on the needs and resources of the SON.
The Assistant Professor is a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track, academic position and the Clinical Assistant Professor is a full-time, 10-month, clinical-track academic position in the School of Nursing, which is part of the College of Health and Human Services at Indiana University Northwest. Each position is a faculty position focused on teaching undergraduate/graduate didactic and clinical nursing courses with a focus on nursing care delivery for diverse populations. Key working relationships include those with other faculty members, as well as with adjunct faculty/preceptors who administer clinical education at the clinical affiliates. The Assistant Professor position requires an expectation of independent and/or collaborative research, encouraged in the Clinical Assistant Professor position, and both ranks include service responsibilities, which may involve participation at the department, division, campus, and/or community level. The position reports to the Director of the School of Nursing.
